KBNest Canopy Anchor. Utility Patent #18/419115 Patent Pending. *
KBNest advantages over similar devices on the market:
1. The Nest is the first mid-line attachable SRT cambium saving canopy anchor.
2. The Nest can be loaded with up to three ropes for three separate life safety lines and all can be retrieved from the ground. All can be used simultaneously without interference with the others.
3. The Nest can anchor both SRS and MRS simultaneously. Meaning both systems can be used at the same time without interfering with each other.
4. The Nest is retrieved with a single overhand knot on the end of your climbing line (regardless of rope diameter) The Nest can also be retrieved with a retrieval ball.
5. The Nest is adjustable to accommodate large diameter and small diameter TIP’s. It can choke a single spare or be set up on a vertical limb if a branch union is inaccessible.
6. The Nest is a simple ergonomic single CNC’d piece of 7075 aluminum with minimal moving parts. The Nest has two automatic gates within the mid-line rope slot to trap the rope This makes the Nest a safe and burly workhorse capable of its inevitable abuse as a canopy anchor. All parts of the tether and Nest are easy to clean and inspect. and all parts of the tether are replaceable.
KBNest Competitive Aspects:
1. The Nest has a built in pulley to minimize friction in MRS. While also reducing friction when retrieving secondary systems.
2. When retrieving the Nest from both SRS and MRS setup, no hardware may be pulled through the TIP! Just a loop of 11mm TriTech with a low profile leather protector sleeve.
3. Because of the Nest’s built in pulley and its ability to accept up to three life supporting retrievable rope systems, it is a great canopy anchor in the event of an emergency rescue scenario
4. The Nest is simple and user friendly, only requiring the knowledge of tying one knot in your climbing line for use in a SRS setup.

This is the basic setup for SRS. Up to three SRS lines (See below) can be setup utilizing the pulley slot in addition to the main river slot. No ring necessary!
Retrieval with overhand knot
Come back in August 2025 for a complete how-to workshop video!
Choked on a spar
Fully loaded! Utilizing a ring for reduced friction when retrieving a double secondary SRS (orange). Secondary is a bite fed through
Green is main line with secondary attached (for retrieval)
When retrieving climber pulls green (strand in the foreground disappearing behind the limb) both secondaries and main come to ground. Climber unties orange and pulls it out, leaving green which is used to retrieve the Nest by you choice of retrieval ball or overhand knot.
